EMP and VAT 201 cheque payments in excess of R100 000

SARS no longer accepts any cheque payment that exceeds R100 000 at any SARS office or via post for PAYE/SDL/UIF or VAT.
Where a cheque payment exceeds R100 000, one of the following methods can be used to make payment:
- Deposit the cheque at the bank, or
- Complete as internet banking transfer, or
- Register for eFiling on www.efiling.co.za
Please note that once you have registered the company for eFiling, any debit order made with SARS will be automatically cancelled. You will have to then initiate a new debit order arrangement with eFiling.
These were effective from 01 February 2011 (EMP201’s) and 01 May 2011 (VAT201’s)
For more details and assistance on these payment options, please do not hesitate to contact Lizette Janse van Rensburg at our offices.
