New Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) Application Process

An enhanced Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) application has been implemented by SARS in an effort to guard against fraud and the misuse of the TCC. You will now receive an instantaneous response to whether your application for a TCC has been approved, declined or selected for review. When considering an application, SARS takes into account all tax reference numbers linked to the legal entity – please note that all branches and divisions should be tax compliant.

A TCC will only be issued to taxpayers if SARS records reflect that the taxpayer is compliant.

A TCC will only be issued in the registered name and trading names as reflected in SARS’ records. If the trading name printed on the certificate is not the one anticipated or the same across all tax types, the taxpayer will be advised to update his/her details.
