Alexis Sacks matriculated from Camps Bay High School and obtained her BCom PGDA from the University of Cape Town in 1991. She completed her articles with the Cape Town firm BDO Spencer Steward where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA). She managed the audits of several companies and was also responsible for the efficient management of a partner’s full client portfolio, thus developing strong technical abilities and expertise in the auditing and business consulting fields.

Alexis joined MD in 1996, and became a Director in March 1997. She specialises in auditing, tax planning, and business consulting services. Alexis prides herself on her availability to clients at all times as well as the trust relationships she has formed with her clients, several of whom have been with her since 1996.

Alexis is also responsible for the training and development of all MD’s CA(SA) and SAIPA learners. She has been instrumental in ensuring that the highest technical standards and training processes have been adopted by MD to assist the learners and to deliver a quality service to the clients.

Alexis completed her Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Management Development Programme with Distinction and was one of the first practitioners in the Western Cape to be accredited with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) to provide verification services and issue compliant B-BBEE Scorecards. However, since the withdrawal of the IRBA from the Regulation of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) verification industry, Alexis now focuses on the B-BBEE consulting services that are not allowed to be provided by the SANAS verification agencies now signing all B-BBEE certificates.

In her free time, Alexis is a keen runner and cyclist and has encouraged and motivated numerous staff members to participate in various events leading to a more balanced and healthy lifestyle. In June 2026 Alexis completed her eighth Comrades Marathon.

On 01 January 2026, MD Accountants & Auditors Inc. merged with Streets Chartered Accountants, a Top 40 UK accountancy and advisory firm. The combined practice now operates under the names of MD Streets Accountants (Pty) Ltd, and MD Streets Auditors Inc.
