The 2023 Return of Earnings (ROE) for Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) submission deadline has been extended to 31 May 2024 (the initial deadline was 31 March 2024).
The Workmen’s Compensation website for online submission/transacting on the ROE website only opened on 1 April 2024.
This return relates to the payroll tax year 01/03/2023 – 29/02/2024.
This also includes all Domestic Employers who should be registered with COIDA in terms of a Constitutional Court ruling (with effect from 01/03/2021 onwards). This means that Domestic employees should now be entitled to compensation if they are injured or contract diseases while on duty.
If you are unsure whether your entity (as the employer) must register for Workmen’s Compensation, please read our blog
